Kantar Media's presence at IFTV 2017 in Turkey

We were present at the International Istanbul Film TV Forum and Exhibition (IFTV), which took place on the 28th & 29th of September in Istanbul.  A leading media event & exhibition held in Turkey, it gathers professionals from around the industry and is organised by RATEM, the Turkish Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters.  

Renata Uhlarikova was on stage, speaking about “Understanding the Behaviour of Audience and New Generation of TV Audience Measurement”. She delivered a presentation highlighting how Kantar Media is addressing the proliferation of media consumption, and how TV audience measurement is transforming into Total Video Audience Measurement sharing examples from Netherlands, Denmark and Norway. 

The prestigious two-day event was opened by the President of RATEM and the Turkish Minister of Culture. Digital Transformation in the TV Industry, New Business Models utilised in TV and Radio, New Broadcasting Technologies, and Artificial Intelligence and Future of Entertainment Industry were amongst many themes discussed and presented during this event. 

A keynote, delivered by Ibrahim Eren, CEO of TRT (Turkish Public TV & Radio Broadcaster), spoke about International Public Broadcasting as well as the importance of TRT World. TRT World is TRT’s first English-language channel, and was launched in a bid to reach out to an international audience. 

Turkey is currently undergoing a transformation, moving from analogue broadcasting systems to digital and internet broadcasting. The IFTV Exhibition, which showcased the latest broadcasting industry, media and film production technology, was an extremely popular feature of the event and was visited by the majority of IFTV attendees.
