More Physicians are Using Mobile Apps to Help Them Navigate Conferences

According to the 2015 Mobile Device Usage Study, 33% of physicians have used a mobile app that was designed for a specific conference, meeting, or event. What’s more is that 68% of those who used these apps rated them as useful or extremely useful. These numbers are up noticeably from 2014, where only 24% of respondents had used an app for a conference/meeting/event and only 59% of those rated them as useful or extremely useful.

Kantar Media’s Mobile Device Usage Study, released in October 2015, collected responses from 1,802 doctors in 15 key specialties via online survey in September 2015. The study profiles physicians’ professional activities and behaviors related to smartphones, tablets, and mobile apps, including usage data on 83 specific medical content/journal apps.

This report contains data on the combined group of Primary Care physicians, Hospitalists, Key Opinion Leaders, and Total Sample data (broken out by age, gender, type of practice, number of patients seen, and number of prescriptions written).
