Kantar Media appoints Antonio Carvalho Chief Research Officer for audiences business

Antonio Carvalho will be responsible for overseeing Kantar Media Audiences central research activities for PeopleMeters, Portable People Meters (PPMs), Return Path Data, Online and future audience measurement methods. The development of algorithm and modelling methods used to evaluate the vast amount of multimedia data analysed by Kantar Media's business sectors will be a key focus of the new research unit.
About Antonio Carvalho
In 2001, Carvalho graduated in Chemical Engineering from Lisbon Institute of Technology, Portugal. Following his completion of a PhD in mathematical modelling and data analysis from the University of Bristol, he took up a position as a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, developing novel mathematical modelling algorithms and solving complex data analysis problems.
Carvalho previously worked for GlaxoSmithKline's Strategic Technologies Division. He joined Kantar Media in 2008 as a Research Manager, working globally across the business providing research, modelling and methodological expertise to existing services and new key developments.
