Kantar Media to continue providing Romania TV ratings currency until 2019
ARMA, Romania's television joint industry committee, has announced that Kantar Media has been awarded the next contract for the provision of Television Audience Measurement. This four year service, extending Kantar’s television measurement provision in the market until the end of 2019, was awarded following a competitive tender process. Kantar Media has been delivering the current television ratings service since January 2012.
The announcement, made last week by COMPAR on behalf of ARMA (Asociatia Romana pentru Masurarea Audientelor), marks the first time the provision for TV ratings using fixed meters has been awarded to the incumbent supplier.
Lucia Antal, President of ARMA commented “We initiated a tender process in 2014 following the agreed process. Kantar Media participated and proved to have a robust, futureproof sampling and panel management proposal, for which ARMA is delighted to re-appoint the company for a further four years. We look forward to their continued partnership with the industry, allowing the measurement of ever more accurate TV consumption data.”
“We are delighted to continue our partnership with ARMA and proud that the TV industry in Romania continues to entrust us with this important contract.” commented Richard Asquith, Global CEO, Kantar Media Audiences. “As we accelerate our development and deployment of techniques to measure television viewing across all platforms and devices we are ready to meet the challenges of Romania’s evolving TV eco-system whilst maintaining the ratings service to the highest international standards.”
