Emotional Britain's Got Talent Audition Drives Twitter Activity!

This week's auditions took the show to Blackpool where we met some incredibly flexible contortionists, John 'Hoop Guy' Parnell, and 16 year old singer-songwriter Harry Gardner.

Although the catchy theme that played in John Parnell's hula-hooping audition saw #hoopguy appear in 0.6% of all Tweets to do with the show, it was the emotional performance by Harry Gardner that sparked the most Twitter activity. Many Tweeters empathised with his poignant original song "Not Alone", which was written for his Nan, and Admiration and Sadness featured in 24.7% and 10.7% of Tweets respectively. His handle, @harrygardner_ was mentioned in 5.3% of all BGT related Tweets on Saturday too.

Overall, there were 21,950 Tweets about Britain's Got Talent on Saturday, averaging at 15 Tweets Per Minute across the day. Generating 7.5M Impressions, the show hit the top spot on the daily Broadcast Leaderboard, and second on the 24/7 board, behind our General Election tracking.
