Ophthalmologists use tablets for work reasons more than other eyecare professionals

As tablet usage is increasing among all U.S. adults, it’s not too surprising that more healthcare professionals are also using these digital devices for professional purposes. All three groups of eyecare professionals in the Sources & Interactions 2013 Study – Eyecare Edition showed small increases year-over-year in terms of using these devices for work reasons. However, the vast majority of all eyecare professionals still do not use tablets for work. Similarly, the majority of all physicians surveyed in the Sources & Interactions Study – Medical/Surgical Edition do not use tablets for professional purposes.

Although ophthalmologists show the greatest usage of tablets for work reasons among the three groups, most do not use tablet apps for professional purposes.

Kantar Media’s Sources & Interactions™ Studies offer a detailed examination of healthcare professionals’ online and mobile activities, e-detailing experience, and exposure to (and evaluation of) information sources including traditional and emerging media, pharma reps, CME, conventions and more. The Eyecare Edition, conducted every year, is designed to profile eyecare professionals’ media use in these areas of interest to healthcare marketers and media professionals.
