National TV ad spending is off to a strong start in 2019, with total expenditures reaching $1.3 billion during the week ending January 6, up 18% compared to the similar time period in 2018. New advertising spend during the first week of the year saw growth as well, totaling $322 million, an increase of 29% YoY.
With the new year upon us, tax season is getting underway and H&R Block kicked off 2019 with an onslaught of new ads. In multiple spots which began airing on New Year’s Eve, the tax preparation service highlights its customer-centric attitude and demonstrates how H&R Block removes some of the anxiety that can accompany tax preparation, whether you are filing online or in-person. The ads address common concerns including tax preparation pricing, help with online returns and turn-around time for refunds.
