Law firms tend to stick to what they and their clients know: prescription drugs, problematic medical devices, asbestos exposure, medical malpractice and the like. However, Kantar Media’s Campaign Media Analysis Group (CMAG) has seen them throw their hats into the political ring on occasion over the years. In the past, these have been attempts to push back on tort reform initiatives at the state or local level, to express their doubts about a Presidential contender, and at other times, because they simply do not have much use for the occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

This week, Minnesota-based bankruptcy law firm Walker & Walker released a new creative tying in their clients’ attempts to rid themselves of burdensome debt with other, high-profile bankruptcy filings by General Motors, Northwest Airlines – and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Attorney Curtis Walker explains: ‘…General Motors and Northwest Airlines get ahead by filing bankruptcy. Nowadays, you can even run for President after bringing your company through bankruptcy.’ So far, this spot has aired six times on local TV in the deep-blue Minneapolis market.
