One Love Manchester Unites Emotional UK Twitter Users

In the wake of the Manchester attack, Ariana Grande came back with other artists to pay a tribute to 22 victims of that night. The all-star benefit concert united Tweeters who turned to Twitter to express their emotions which sparked an astonishing 1,282,529 Tweets and over 392M Impressions.

The fundraising event organised by Grande with the help of Chris Martin, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber surprised the Manchester crowd with the sudden appearance of the former Oasis frontman, Liam Gallagher who flew from Rock im Park in Germany. His performance accompanied by Grande and Martin created 4,744 Tweets with the hashtag #oasis.

One of the highlights of the concert was when the camera panned to a policeman dancing with children, reflecting the unity and strength of the city. The joy of the night was slightly disrupted by Piers Morgan’s criticism of Grande, but this was followed by his apologetic Tweet ‘I misjudged you’.

The peak moment happened at 22.10 with 12,586 Tweets praising the emotional show.

One Love Manchester was the star leader of last week, beating the May vs Corbyn debate on Channel 4 and contributing to a third of all Social TV conversations!
